KubiChat is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data and store no message history. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Messages: Chat messages are stored only in server memory and are never written to disk or databases. All messages are permanently deleted when the room closes.
- User accounts: We do not require registration or store user accounts.
- Personal information: We do not collect names, emails, or other personal identifiers.
- Message history: No chat logs are retained after room closure.
3. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate the Service:
- Nicknames: Temporary display names chosen by users, deleted when room closes.
- Room data: Room codes and expiration times, stored only in memory.
- Local storage: Owner tokens stored in your browser to identify room ownership.
4. Server Logs
Our hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, access times) for security and operational purposes. These logs do not contain message content.
5. Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies. The only browser storage used is localStorage for room owner identification, which you can clear at any time.
6. Data Retention
All room data, including messages and nicknames, is automatically deleted when:
- The room owner closes the room
- The room timer expires (15-60 minutes)
- The server restarts
We have no ability to recover deleted data.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service is hosted on Railway. Please refer to Railway's privacy policy for information about their data practices.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
